The Japan Foundation Asia Center and Parco Co., Ltd. jointly
started in 2014 as a project to promote exchanges of dancers in
Asia through street dance
and to co-produce stage works
focused on street dance. So far, performances and workshops
by Japanese street dance groups have taken place in seven
Southeast Asian countries, and omnibus performances by
Southeast Asian and Japanese dance groups have also been
held in Tokyo. The stage work of street dance was co-produced
for the first time in 2015, and full-scale collaborative work
production has started in 2016, the third year of the project.
